Focus on Immigration: The Status of Immigration Today

May 9, 7:00 pm

Join us for a discussion with HIAS.  HIAS is a leading force throughout the world in aiding immigrants.  HIAS has been helping migrants around the world since 1881 when it was founded to aid Jewish refugees in America.  This conversation will bring a Jewish perspective to the issues at hand,  help us examine U.S policies which have both directly and indirectly influenced immigration and migration, and show us how these policies correlate with current events. Through this program we will gain an understanding of the history of immigration, the current situation, and some of the root causes for that current state and migration in general.  The cost for this program is $10.

This meeting is required for the border trip applicants; however, non-applicants are also welcome to attend.
