Fall Soup Cook-Off and Tasting – Countering Growing Food Insecurity: What Can We Do?

November 16, 11:00 am

Three Fountains Clubhouse
(address and direction will be sent
before the event)

Join in the fun and festivities, learn more about growing food insecurity under the “big, beautiful bill” and what we can do to offset the damage done while helping us stock a local food pantry with cans of soup that you can donate.

Bring a batch of  homemade soup that you would like to enter into the Soup Cook-Off/Soup Tasting, along with your recipe.  The Section will provide breads and desserts. Everyone will get a chance to sample the soups and vote on them in various categories (dependent on the soups brought).  Entries will be anonymous. Soups with the most votes earn their potagers accolades, such as bragging rights and recognition on our emails and website!

We will compile the recipes into a Fall Soup Cook-Off and Tasting Recipe Book that we will email to all participants. You can send your recipes in advance to ncjwcolorado@gmail.com if it is easier. Feel free to include recipes (or serving ideas) for your favorite accompaniment for your soup (sandwiches, salads, sides, etc.)

Even if you prefer not to enter a batch of soup, come anyway! You can sample the soups and help vote in the cook-off!

The Fall Soup Cook-Off and Tasting is on Sunday, November 16 at Three Fountains Clubhouse (directions and address to be sent before the event). It starts at 11:00 am. Cost for the program is $10. Friends and family are welcome, please register them as well!

Please bring  a can of soup to donate to the food pantry. Thank you!
