NCJW and Moms Demand Action Walk to End Gun Violence

June 3, 5:45 pm

Clement Park (near the Columbine Memorial)
7306 West Bowles Ave
Littleton, CO 80123

Join us as NCJW and Moms Demand Action walk together against gun violence, June 3rd at 5:45 pm in Clement Park (near the Columbine Memorial).

Phil Weiser, the Colorado State Attorney General and Sara Grossman, a gun violence survivor will walk with us and speak.  The program will include a very moving video/song which you can preview here and will end before Shabbat. Come walk around a lake to remember those killed by gun violence, honor the survivors, and recommit to a future without gun violence.

The event will be held in the shadow of Columbine High School, next to the memorial, and will kick off Wear Orange Weekend. The origin of Wear Orange began on January 21, 2013, when Hadiya Pendleton, a young Black woman, marched in President Obama’s second inaugural parade. One week later, Hadiya was shot and killed on a playground in Chicago. Soon after, Hadiya’s friends commemorated her life by wearing orange, the color hunters wear in the woods to protect themselves and others. Wear Orange is now observed every June throughout the U.S.

So wear your orange, and join us at 5:45pm at Shelter M (follow the signs we will be near the Columbine Memorial).  Clement Park is located at 7306 West Bowles in Littleton.  Enter off Pierce and follow the signs.

If you would like to carpool we will meet at 4;45pm in front of the Sprouts at Cornell & Colorado. Please RSVP at ncjwcolorado@gmail.com so we can get an estimate of how many people to expect. Help NCJW and Moms Demand Action make a powerful peaceful statement and have our voices heard!
